Television and Online Bingo

At the recently held 3rd Online Bingo Summit in London, we heard it said that partnering an online bingo site with a television game and advertising was going to be the marketing future for online bingo. This has been confirmed by the fact that ITV’s Bingo Night Live has such a popular following. This game show is completely free and is played Tuesday to Saturday at the late hour of 12 to 1 in the morning. The lateness of the show has had no deterring effect on its popularity.
The game is used as a feeder for the ITV online bingo site and although players are invited to join the site when they register to play the television game, they are not compelled to do so. The knock on effect of this is that the ITV online bingo site is building up a huge database of potential customers.
There are also other online bingo sites who offer a televised version of the game, however these are not shown on terrestrial television. They are limited to satellite channels and this in fact limits their exposure to potential customers. Not everyone in the UK has access to satellite television, but everyone does have access to terrestrial stations.
Bearing this in mind, the ITV Bingo Night Live programme is going to have a wider audience than any satellite channel offering televised bingo shows. It appears that ITV have a corner on the marketplace here and as a result of this their online bingo site will prosper. It is going to be very interesting to follow developments in the online bingo site following on the introduction of the television show. I am sure all online bingo operators are also interested to see what will transpire with the site.
