Obama Bingo with Gala Bingo
Gala Bingo have captured the spirit of the current goodwill surrounding the President Elect of the United States by launching a new charity-friendly bingo game in conjunction with Barack Obama’s step mother, Kezia Obama. The game, which has been launched to raise money for Sue Ryder care, runs from the 14th to the 23rd of January, during which time Mrs Obama will fly out from her home in the UK to Washington to see her stepson inaugurated as the President of the USA – becoming the first ever black leader of the world’s leading power.
Mrs Obama Bingo will help to raise money for the charity (Sue Ryder Care Foundation), after a vote among Gala Bingo employees showed overwhelming support for the organisation. The charity, which runs numerous hospices and neurological centres both in the United Kingdom and Malawi, provides expert care for people dealing with conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s Disease, Cancer and the effects of strokes.
It is sure to be an immensely popular game in light of the delighted response to Barack Obama’s election last November and the optimism surrounding his being chosen as the succession to George W Bush. Just as the story of Barack Obama persuaded people previously uninterested in politics to pay attention to an election in which they couldn’t even vote, the Obama name is sure to interest those who previously wouldn’t have paid much attention to charity bingo.
The obama charity bingo game will take place between the 14th and the 23rd of January, from 8pm to 9pm on weekdays and 7pm to 8pm at weekends, in Gala’s City Club section. Kezia Obama has said “I am delighted to help galabingo.com raise funds for the charity, and I am very excited about seeing Barack again in Washington”. Just as Barack looks to bring support and relief to people who have been downtrodden worldwide, his step-mother’s endorsement will hopefully help Sue Ryder care give support and relief to people who have been unfortunately stricken with degenerative conditions.
