Bingo Club Staff Members Left in the Dark

Staff members of the Deluxe Bingo Club in Southend have been left in the dark regarding their future, after the bingo club in which they work, unceremoniously closed its doors on them. Last week they were told not to come to work and they also had to wait for an entire week before being allowed back into the bingo club to collect their personal effects.
Seventeen workers in total have lost their jobs, with no notice, many have families to feed and mortgages to pay, but they have been given no information from the clubs owners regarding the reason for the closure. They have been to await the outcome of a management meeting to be held later in the month, and they have no idea if their wages are going to be paid.

A cleaner found the club padlocked by the bailiffs on Thursday and the bingo club boss, Peter Hargreaves refused to make any comment regarding the sudden closure. A note was left on the door, warning that any attempt to enter would lead to prosecution.

Deluxe bingo clubs in Hastings, Folkestone and Eastbourne all remain in operation. One worker commented that it was sickening the way things were done. They had no warning that this was going to happen and no way of knowing if they will receive their wages for the last month worked. One day they had jobs and the next they were told not to come to work.

I think this is really unfair, I mean if the bingo club was battling financially or otherwise, surely staff members should have been given some notice. Many people live from month to month and they should at least have been afforded the opportunity to make a plan for themselves. If it were me, I would apply in the meantime for an online bingo job, there must be something for them in the online bingo industry.
